Nineteen-year-old Austin singer/songwriter Ariel Abshire teams with Nada Surf producer Louie Lino to bring us her second full-length alt-country triumph, Still So New. Abshire once again delivers a complex array of youthful emotion with poetic grace and diverse musicality. And let’s not forget that voice! Since the day she first set foot on stage at the famous Broken Spoke in Austin at age 11, critics have been comparing her full, rich vocals to those of Lou Ann Barton and Brenda Lee. But this is no ordinary country music sound. “Still So New is an album with musical freshness,” says SoundSenseUK. “There’s a wave of singer-songwriting geniuses newly emerging; from Leddra Chapman to Delta Maid, and Ariel Abshire is right up there with them. She’s definitely one to watch.”
